The People Who Try To Stop Genocide Are Now Being Bombed By The US And UK
The US is bombing yet another Arab country, as long as Israel can keep committing its genocide.
In the shadowed corners of the Middle East, where superpowers play geopolitical chess, the narrative of heroism often falls upon the shoulders of the mighty. China, Russia, Iran — these are the names that dominate headlines and shape the global discourse on power and resistance. Yet, in a stark departure from the expected script, it is the Yemenis, a people who have faced the relentless fury of a genocidal war led by Saudi Arabia and backed by Western powers, who now emerge as the sole champions in the struggle against the Palestinian genocide.
Their audacity to stand up, in spite of the crushing burden of their own suffering, represents an extraordinary example of moral courage that belies their status as one of the world's most impoverished peoples. It is a testament to their unyielding spirit that Yemen's Ansarallah has extended their battlefield to include the defense of the Palestinian cause, declaring war on Israel in support of Gaza.
They have launched attacks on shipping vessels destined for Israel in a bid to exert pressure on the Israeli government to cease its genocidal assault on Gaza. The Yemeni's resistance, however, has been met not with international solidarity but with the deafening roar of US and UK bombs raining down on their positions.
In Gaza, the Israeli military machine continues its grim work, pounding densely populated civilian areas without discernment. The toll is horrifying — countless innocent Palestinians, children among them, are being cut down. Medical personnel and aid workers, rare beacons of hope amidst the carnage, are being surgically exterminated. Israel's armaments have shattered shelters and reduced ambulances to smoldering wrecks, claiming the lives of both the wounded and those who dared to extend a helping hand.
The Yemeni's maritime interdictions are a cry from the depths of despair, an attempt to draw a line against the genocide unfolding before the world's eyes. And yet, it is the United States and the United Kingdom that have taken up arms against them. The Western powers have chosen to support Israel's brutal campaign, not by standing idle but by actively targeting those who have taken up the mantle of nonviolent resistance. It is a bitter irony that in attempting to save lives, the Yemenis have become the targets of the very nations that tout themselves as guardians of human rights and international law.
With the current bombing campaign, the United States’ war machine grinds on with a voracious appetite, it leaves behind a trail of desolation, not just in Yemen but across the Arab world. This relentless force, driven by a hegemonic hunger for control and dominance, now casts its shadow over yet another Arab nation. Its bombs fall like a deadly shroud over the cradle of civilizations, where the echoes of ancient wisdom still permeate the air. These are lands that have stood since the dawn of history, bearing witness to the rise and fall of empires, the birthplace of prophets, poets, and philosophers. Yet, the boundless arrogance of modern-day Western warlords seeks to reduce these pillars of our shared human heritage to rubble. The United States, with its indiscriminate campaigns, appears intent on flattening every Arab country, obliterating the beauty and legacy of civilizations that once gave the world its earliest light of knowledge and culture. It is a campaign of destruction that, if left unchecked, threatens to erase the rich tapestry of human heritage from the annals of history, leaving nothing but the ashen whispers of a forgotten past.
It is a story that I could never have conceived of prior to 2023. The heroes are Palestine, Yemen and South Africa. The villains - I never had any doubts about this - are the United States and its imperialist subordinates (Israel, UK, and the indebted vassals).
