I completely concur with his (tentative) assessment that Trump and his global authoritarian cohort sees China as an important linchpin (and therefore, target to neutralize) in the recreation of national sovereignty outside of the Western system of global accumulation and the white supremacist political culture always necessary to anesthetize its domestic masses. My conjecture is that they intend to minimize distractions (including, per their purposes, potential Zionist settler colonialist overreach), work on reunifying forces (including the reintegration of Russia into the Western political-economic machine) for a full-frontal, multi-level operation against the global South as a whole.
