FULLY recognizing (even to yourself) your gov't is responsible for genocide takes (1) a high degree of intellectual integrity and (2) ability to take negative social pressure in your stride. Neither (1) nor (2) are too common in people especially not (2). Also in order to come to the TRUE conclusion you must be "half-way" there, so the distance between your reading of reality to where you are now (in your mind) is not too big. When you put these 3 things together you can see why it is not straight forward for person X to come up with factual info as it is. All this WITHOUT the massive propaganda which they mount from the other side - which has all legacy professional media on their side - with no limit to the amount of money or expert psychological warfare which they have tons of experience with - this is literally their profession - controlling our beliefs. With every new disaster this cycle of battle on our minds begins all over again - to those who are still "on the fence".

Great discussion guys. Thanks as always for your efforts and perspectives.

The bubbles breaking is hopeful, and Alon made a good point that we are more mature - need a lot more shifting out of consumerism and dumbed down ness, but a good amount of people are lifting their heads up out of the sand.

I loved the discussion! Alon's comments about how civilizations with long, deep histories think differently than the immature US were illuminating.

I always learn so much from you all! Thank you! And Alon really nailed what Iran is doing. They're thinking very strategically and maneuvering accordingly. I'm reminded of the fable of the tortoise and the hare. Slow and steady wins race.

Thanks for this discussion. I would like to invite you to go to Bob Avakian Official ( also on Substack) for another analysis of the current situation. Thx

Yes, Alon on Iran. Your comments are spot on.

Patience is a virtue. Iran know this and the USA always has ants in their pants and makes lots of mistakes. For people who are wondering why Iran is taking its time - read your history, especially the Roman periods: both the republic and the empire’s wars and proposed expansions into the different/varied Persian empires of the day circa 1800-2200 years ago. Persia = Smart, strategic, patient.

P.s. I think pretty much all Americans/liberals/conservative/moderates are stupid and evil. And by evil I mean very selfish and greedy. Mainstream worldview. Mainstream media. Same. Same. Really our history is nothing to be proud of, but it would be good to learn from it. Maybe one day when books like the 1619 project aren’t banned in half of the country.

Regarding the discussion about the US government, it occurred to me a couple of weeks ago that we actually have two distinct and unconnected parts of our government: the domestic and foreign affairs sides. The foreign affairs side is where all of the action is, like the annual $1.5 trillion that is spent on all things military. This is what gives participants true power and wealth. When necessary, like at election time, the domestic side gains prominence, as this is how votes are gathered and won. It used to matter who won; when Republicans won, it was great for business, but a Democratic victory was terrible. Clinton changed this; he sold out to corporate interests and made them realize they could count on Dems to do their bidding at least as well as Republicans. Now, corporate America doesn't care who is in power.

One could sense during the campaign what an imposition it was for Harris, Clinton, and Obama to leave the luxury they were accustomed to and go out to campaign for a candidate they didn't really like. Now it's all over, and they can go back to the Empire Casino where the house (country) never wins and carry on in the same fashion they would have if Harris had one.

Sadly, I agree. However, with some newer blood in the house, senate and President Trump back as the prez & VP JD, I think our country (America) has a fighting chance. I just hope & pray that nothing happens to him before January 20th! 🥺🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I'm sure he will, as soon hhe is legally able to! About this, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the deportation of illegal & criminal migrants (which BTW isn't everyone who's come over, but the majority, I'd think).

NO! Because we have never had any new wars under Trump during his first administration, and he certainly is going to nip this and the Ukraine-Russia war in their buds as soon as he can, after inauguration day!!
