It was wonderful to hear you, Karim, speak in-depth about your perspective. To hear your frustration at the staying power of racism, made me think of how some art inside the American bubble can make for enlightening or inspiring statements about our human dilemma.
I apologize if these songs are already known to you, or if you find music an insufficient articulation of complex issues like the politicized application of racism, or the celebration of loudly calling out the colonial enemies that nurture self hate and feelings of group inferiority.
